BBS Manufacturing (BBS MFG) is one of the woodshops behind a lot of the skateboard decks you see in shops. For more than two decades they've been pressing decks in Mexico for skateboard brands – hard rock maple, built for durability and performance rather than the cheapest possible board.
What BBS makes
BBS presses decks for some of the biggest pro brands in skateboarding – names you'd recognize off the wall of any skate shop. We'd love to tell you which ones, but BBS asks us not to, and we like keeping our woodshop happy. The short version: if you've ridden a top-tier pro deck, there's a good chance it came out of this factory.
What we can tell you: almost every deck in our shop is pressed on BBS wood – including The Furniture Company (TFC) and Collage Skateboards. BBS also sells its own unbranded blank decks – same wood, same presses, no graphic.
BBS blank decks
A BBS blank is the same wood and press without a graphic, so you're paying for the deck, not the art. Shops use them as house boards, painters and builders use them for custom graphics, and plenty of skaters just ride them.
- 7-ply 100% hard Canadian maple
- Medium concave, popsicle shape
- Hand finished, assorted stain colors on the top and bottom plies
- Widths from 7.5" to 9.0", plus Short versions of 8.125", 8.25" and 8.5" (shorter length and wheelbase)

Are BBS blanks good?
They come off the same presses as decks for some of the biggest brands in skateboarding – 7-ply hard maple, medium concave, hand finished. The only thing missing is the graphic (and the markup that comes with it).
What size BBS blank should I get?
8.0" is the most common street size, 8.25"–8.38" is the all-round pick, and 8.5" and up suits transition or bigger feet. The Short sizes give you a shorter wheelbase at the same width.
Do BBS blanks come with grip tape?
No, they're deck only. Grab a sheet of grip tape and some trucks to build it up.
