Comic Culprit is a brand and design studio based in Portland, OR that makes limited retail apparel, skateboards, accessories, prints, digital goods and client work. Owned and operated by graphic designer Matt Evans. This boutique and nimble studio offers creative services with a background in logo design, branding, packaging, illustration, merch design and motion graphics.
The brand blends neo-noir comics with a clean-bold style, similar to retro arcade and console graphics. Other inspo pulls from anime, classic cartoons, 90-00s streetwear and hip-hop references. Mirroring the skate industry, these ideas share themes of adolescence, individuality, anti-authority, and perseverance through dedication. Comic Culprit is defined by its thoughtful approach to design that pushes stories, brands and products forward. Operating under the ethos that practice makes progress and it’s a never ending pursuit.
